Craft and Equipment

LWC 2026 will provide a pool of competition-ready craft and equipment for designated training sessions and competition events.

All equipment supplied by the Local Organising Committee will meet the applicable ILS specifications and standards. Equipment will be maintained in excellent condition and made available for the relevant competition periods.

Featured Craft and Equipment Brands

The LWC 2026 equipment pool will feature craft and equipment from four established specialist brands:

Wetiz
ILS-compliant pool manikins, rescue tubes and throw lines, as well as racing boards.

Aquasport (Kracka)
Racing paddle boards designed for surf lifesaving competition.

Carbonology Sport
Surf skis and paddles in a range of configurations suitable for different competitors.

Fenn
Surf skis and paddles, with different craft sizes, leg lengths and paddle options available.

Final makes, models and quantities remain subject to availability. Equivalent ILS-compliant equipment may be substituted where required. Details about allocation, training access and exclusive-use hire will be published once confirmed.

Pool Equipment

Equipment provided for use during pool competition will include:

  • Competition manikins
  • Rescue tubes
  • Throw lines
  • Obstacles
  • Equipment required for the Simulated Emergency Response Competition
  • Automatic timing and officiating equipment


Wetiz manikins, rescue tubes and throw lines that comply with ILS specifications are planned for use. Pool obstacles will be manufactured to the required ILS specifications.

Beach Equipment

ILS-compliant batons will be supplied for the Beach Flags and Beach Relay events.

Ocean Craft and Equipment

Limited access to a shared pool of ocean craft and equipment will be available for LWC 2026. The planned equipment pool includes:

  • ILS-endorsed surf boats, oars and sweep oars
  • Surf skis
  • Surf ski paddles
  • Racing boards
  • Rescue tubes

Access will be subject to availability and the allocation arrangements established by the organisers. Further details will be published once confirmed.

Equipment Availability

Craft and equipment supplied through the general equipment pool will be shared between participating teams.

The organisers may also arrange opportunities to hire selected surf skis, paddles and racing boards for exclusive use during training and competition. Any hire arrangements, booking procedures, prices and conditions will be published on this page once confirmed.

Teams should not assume that equipment has been reserved for their exclusive use unless they have received confirmation from the organisers.

Personal Equipment

Competitors remain responsible for bringing their own personal equipment, including:

  • Swimwear
  • Goggles
  • Swimming caps
  • Swimming fins
  • Nose clips
  • Ear plugs
  • Helmets
  • Personal flotation devices or life jackets, where required
